SAN FRANCISCO, CA: Forecross® Corporation (OTCBB: FRXX), a legacy to web and XML implementation solutions company, today announced the release of its new L2X SmartXMLSM Suite of software products and services to provide legacy to web data exchange without middleware.

L2X SmartXMLSM Suite is being used on the XML implementation project that Forecross announced on February 28, 2000. Forecross believes that this is among the first software-automated MVS XML implementation projects in the world using advanced second generation technology.

"The future of B2B and B2G e-commerce requires the flexibility and integrity provided by XML data exchange," explained Kim O. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer. "For large corporate and governmental IT operations, successful e-commerce implementation will require the seamless integration of mainframe legacy applications and databases with new software initiatives. Legacy to web via XML is the only strategy that will work in large-scale, real-world projects."

Jones went on to explain: "The first generation of legacy to web and of XML data exchange was provided by middleware - complex layers of software between the old and the new. However," he added, "the technical limitations and hidden costs imposed by middleware solutions are becoming more obvious every day, and a second generation solution is required."

SmartXMLSM  provides the native software plumbing to enable large-scale e-commerce projects to succeed with a true second generation technical solution. SmartXML inserts the functionality for XML data exchange directly into mainframe programs, eliminating middleware, decreasing costs and increasing business flexibility.

SmartXMLSM consists of a suite of software modules applicable to mainframe CICS programs, batch programs, reports, data file exchanges and support for mainframe programmers. SmartXMLSM is available now as a part of Forecross service offerings.

"If XML is to be the world standard for data, Forecross is proud to be at the forefront of the implementation process and to be able to provide our customers with a competitive lead in implementing this standard with the utmost of automation and safety," concluded Mr. Jones.
