Forecross® Corporation (OTCBB-FRXX), a legacy and Year 2000 solution company, announced today the completion of a major Y2K project for one of its clients, Brown Brothers Harriman & Company (BBH&Co.). The project involved over two dozen applications critical to the operations of BBH&Co.. Forecross used its Complete/2000® automated software and services to analyze and make Year 2000 compliant approximately 17,000,000 lines of source code written in three different languages and running on two different hardware platforms. The last application was implemented in production earlier this month.

"This is the culmination of almost four years of planning and hard work by Brown Brothers," said Bill Anderson, Chief Information Officer of BBH&Co. "Our Y2K team has been in place since early 1996. This was a very complex project-we first had to upgrade all of our "system-related" software to Y2K ready versions. This included mainframe operating systems, development environments, compilers and corresponding utilities. In the hardware area, we upgraded all non-compliant CPUs, client workstations and communication equipment with new equipment that's been certified as Y2K ready by the manufacturer and tested by our
core team."

For their applications source code, BBH&Co.'s Y2K Project consisted of four phases 1) Impact and Assessment, 2) Renovation, 3) User Acceptance Testing, and 4) Implementation. These applications run on a variety of enterprise, client-server and PC platforms for a diverse group of user areas and had to be melded into a comprehensive Year 2000 plan.

"Because of all these issues, we decided to supplement our internal staff with the services of an experienced software conversion vendor," indicated Rick Berk, Department Head, Enterprise Systems at BBH&Co. "We selected San Francisco-based Forecross Corporation for the high degree of automation in their tool sets as well as for their history of success in large-scale conversion projects. Forecross has experience in both legacy Migrations and Year 2000 renovation. Their automated tools not only dealt with the Y2K issues in our code, but upgraded it when required to operate under COBOL LE 370 for MVS. Forecross was able to deliver renovated and upgraded application source code in mid-July, ahead of our original schedules, which allowed plenty of time for testing."

BBH&Co. involved over 150 different internal user departments to test for application functionality involving both pre-2000 and post-2000 data and test situations. Rick Berk indicated, "User representatives from each BBH&Co. functional business area participated in the building and execution of test scripts, including the verification of results. These results were reviewed by our Quality Assurance area prior to the implementation of the renovated code into our production environment." Berk continued, "Additionally, our internal audit staff worked closely with the Y2K team and with user representatives throughout the entire process." During 1998, BBH&Co. also conducted tests with a number of their clients who have customized point-to-point communications links with BBH&Co. These tests focused on the entire "life of a trade" cycle.

"The planning and the hard work paid off," remarked Bill Anderson. "Completing this project in early 1999 allows us to be ahead of the game in resolving our Year 2000 issues."
