3.7 Conclusion

The extent to which XML is proven to be a strong contributor to the organization's cost control and ability to respond to opportunities will be determined by the degree of discipline of its implementation. In particular, we strongly discourage non-trivial use of XML without active schema validation. A complete solution to disciplined XML usage will go further, creating a single point of maintenance with a repository of extended information beyond that supported by the implementation language, and providing operational control of both program and document versions.
