Services are as much about the future of enterprise computing as they about are the future
of the Internet. In this vision of the future, the only difference between enterprise
computing and Internet computing will be will be the people who are who are allowed access
to enterprise computing assets. All very paradigm shifty stuff, but what good are Web
Services today, other than as fun new experiments for the Internet group? How will they
help me get the paychecks out and submit the invoices that keep the business moving? Most
importantly of all, how are we going to afford to rewrite all of our applications so that
we can obtain the genuine advantages of Web Services? |
